Hello! Thank you for visiting with me here at Pocket Promise. My name is Jennifer Aborn and, among other things, I am a resin artist who lives in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. I have always enjoyed creative activities.
Prior to 2021, my primary creative outlet was making music. From 2013 to 2020, I recorded and released four albums of relaxational and inspirational instrumental music under the name Jennifer Mills. I've played the piano since I was a little girl and, working with my husband, Ed, who is also a musician, I genuinely fell in love with making music in adulthood. You may listen to my albums on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and most other digital music platforms. But sometimes life has other plans for us, unfortunately.
In 2021 I was diagnosed with an Acoustic Neuroma brain tumor. Thankfully, God blessed me with amazing doctors and surgeons to take care of me, but the only way to remove the tumor also meant having to completely sever my auditory and vestibular (balance) nerves on my left side. Among other things, the single-sided deafness has forever changed the way I hear music. I just couldn't "feel" it anymore like I used to. This truly broke my heart.

It was during my recovery from the brain surgery that I started to dabble in resin crafts. Well, dabbling quickly moved on to enjoying, and then full-on love for creating unique and beautiful items to share with friends and family. Eventually I even started to participate in craft fairs and selling to boutiques in the area. I even landed some regular customers like wineries for whom I made custom wine stoppers. If you'd like to see some of my previous pieces, you may visit JennifersJoy.net.
So how did I go from making coasters, trays, stoppers and a variety of other resin-based items to creating the Pocket Promise? Click here to find out.
